Educational Programs
The early childhood years are such a crucial and fleeting time. We commit to offering your child a community in which they can explore the joy of childhood, in their own time, in their own way. There is no rush to grow up here and we guarantee there is magic to be found, friendships to be forged and memorable moments to be made for every child.
We believe the world needs artists, musicians and humanitarians as well as academics, so we provide a wide range of experiences to allow your child to express their intelligence in their own unique way. We offer a resident artist program, musical program, daily yoga and animal experiences as part of our everyday curriculum.
Our curriculum is underpinned by the Australian Government’s Framework, “Belonging, Being and Becoming – The Early Years Learning Framework”. This framework emphasises a number of learning outcomes for children such as children have a strong sense of identity, children are connected with and contribute to their world, children have a strong sense of well-being, children are confident and involved learners and children are effective communicators.
Our program takes shape in many different forms. Learning stories are documented for individuals, small groups and whole group experiences. Often a child initiated experience will turn into a short or long term group project. This approach ensures programs are interesting and meaningful to the individual child. We believe that children have “a hundred languages” as quoted by Loris Malaguzzi, founder of Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Childhood in Italy. Therefore we strive to document a large variety of children’s “languages” or ways of expressing. These could include artistic and creative endeavours (art, music, drama, photography, dance etc.), physicality, imaginative play, friendships and social interactions and the development of literacy and numeracy skills.
