Kindergarten Program

Barefoot Early Childhood offers a Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program facilitated by our fully qualified Kindergarten Teacher.  Our Kindergarten Program runs from 8.30am until 4.00pm Monday to Friday, with the added support of our long day care program at no additional cost which operates from 6.30am until 6.30pm.  Your Kindergarten fee includes a nutritious and delicious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, in which your child will assist in the harvesting of ingredients, preparation, cooking and serving. Also included in your fee is our visiting specialist teachers including our equestrian teacher, Caitlin Glass (pony riding), our Creatives Teacher, Tabea Reid-Bruengger (art and music) and our yoga teacher, Kathryn Avery, from Blue Lotus Kids Yoga.

Small group sizes ensure each individual receives the one on one love, education and care that they deserve.  Our Kindy playground offers a treehouse, a creek bed and mud pit and a permanent art and creation space to ensure your child is happily engaged in deep play and learning at all times.  Our children visit our centre animals, our pony Neekie, our goat, Lucy and our chickens as often as they like.

Barefoot Early Childhood is committed to ensuring your child has all of the support they need for a successful transition into their Preparatory Year.  Our Kindergarten Teacher works with local Prep Teachers to ensure our children are developing the required developmental and self help skills required to ensure a smooth transition.  During fourth term, our children participate in regular visits to their new school, ensuring their move to Prep is anticipated with excitement.  Most importantly, we work on developing our children’s social and emotional intelligences, preparing them to enter Prep with resilience and the social skills required to develop friendships, deal with conflict in positive ways and contribute to our community with respect and kindness.

Fees:  Our daily fee for Kindergarten (including long day care component, meals and visiting specialist teachers) is $84.00 per day minus your Child Care Subsidy entitlement.

Families who hold a Health Care Card, identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or are of multiple birth of three or more are entitled to additional fee assistance, QKFS Plus, to ensure their fees are reduced to low/no cost.
